2004 British Rally Champion David Higgins makes a shock return to the Probite British Rally Championship in 2025, driving a Ford Fiesta R2T in the yourbrandhere.org / Ignition Motorsport Rally Team.
The multiple American Rally champ clinched the 2004 BRC title at the wheel of a Hyundai Accent WRC, with his last appearance in the series in 2008. From there, Higgins spent much of his rallying career in Asia and latterly the USA, driving a Subaru Impreza for the factory squad.
Now, in an unexpected move, the Manx-born ace will make a comeback at the Carlisle Stages, driving a front-wheel-drive machine competitively for the first time since the early 2000’s and will have Keith Jones back in the co-driver’s seat.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back out on the UK stages for the first time since 2015″ he said. “This will be my first ever event that I have been able to do just for the enjoyment with no big pressure”.
At the wheel of the Ignition Motorsport Fiesta R2T, Higgins will once again take on the challenge of a BRC support category in the form of the BRC4 class, while at the same time scoring points for the BRC Teams championship battle, which the squad currently lead.
