The Probite British Rally Championship will welcome MRF Tyres as one of the official tyre suppliers for the 2025 season. The introduction of the prominent manufacturer to the BRC’s armoury offers competitors across the classes and categories a wide and varied choice in tyres from a brand renowned for its motorsport excellence.
With its headquarters in India, MRF Tyres has a storied legacy in motorsport, with notable achievements in rallying, circuit racing, and karting. The company’s commitment to developing high-performance tyres has been evident through its participation and successes in various international championships.
Notably, MRF Tyres won the 2023 FIA European Rally Championship, securing the title with two rounds to spare, recruiting drivers such as Efren Llarena, Martins Sesks, and Simone Campedelli to compete for the coveted European title.
Now, the brand will officially launch in the British Rally Championship, offering competitors across the flagship BRC categories, the National Title and Open Rally Title, the opportunity to utilise the range of MRF asphalt and gravel tyres, which range from 18” to 13” options, suitable for a huge variety of machinery.
Aiming to vie for the coveted BRC title, MRF has recruited two BRC1 front-runners for the 2025 season, which will be equipped with the Indian manufacturer’s rubber, with news of the drivers announced in the coming weeks.
Impressive performances and stage-winning pace offered the perfect platform for MRF to showcase their brand in Britain’s premier rally series, and MRF Tyres UK distributors Service and Sport will attend each round of the championship, offering on-event tyre fitting and technical support to all of its customers.
Service and Sport Director Jerry Freeman is delighted to be joining the British Championship this season.
“MRF Tyres is very excited to be joining the prestigious British Rally Championship as one of the official tyre suppliers for 2025,” he said.
“There is a great synergy between MRF Tyres and the BRC, and with the reinvigoration of the championship in recent years, it’s become a competitive environment with interest from far and wide again. Of course, with MRF Tyres being successful across the world and having a European championship under its belt, we have global experience to pull from, and there is a real desire to also secure regional titles, the BRC is certainly worthy of investment from us.
“It will be great to have competitors at the forefront of the BRC1 category but we will also be delighted to service any competitor in the BRC, and we look forward to an exciting season ahead”.
Reece Tarren, Probite British Rally Championship Manager believes it’s a large step forward for the series.
“MRF Tyres have gone from strength to strength over the years and having them on board this year will be of great benefit to competitors in every category. Their arrival will enhance the competitive landscape of the BRC, providing drivers with a variety of high-quality tyres engineered to cope with the rigours of the BRC events.
“They are very eager to be part of the competition at the highest level and I’m looking forward to seeing how the fight between manufacturers develops over the season. Having MRF join us adds another dimension to the BRC, and it’s a great addition to the series”.
The first round of the 2025 season gets underway in Beverley at the East Riding Stages Rally on 23 February.
