Mason makes Junior BRC return after impressive debut season

Sam Mason will return to the Junior British Rally Championship in 2026, determined to build on a promising debut season.

The 19-year-old impressed during his maiden Junior BRC campaign in 2025, steadily developing his pace across the season and securing his first podium in the championship at the Cambrian Rally. Mason’s impressive performance marked the culmination of a productive year of development, resulting in a fourth-place finish in the Junior BRC standings.

Now, with a season of top-level junior competition behind him, Mason is eager to return stronger and push further up the order as he continues his rallying progression in a Peugeot 208 Rally4, once again alongside regular co-driver James Seymour.

After rising through the ranks to championship success in Junior F1000 and the Welsh Forest Championship, Mason used 2025 to adapt to the relentless competition of the UK’s leading junior rally series.

With the winter break finally over, Mason is relishing the chance to get back behind the wheel and take on a fresh crop of young rivals in one of the most competitive categories in British rallying.

“This year, there is a great new bunch of competitors in the BRC, especially in the competitive Rally4 category,” he said.

“It has felt like a long winter out of the car since the Cambrian Rally in October. Let’s go! Let’s go and have a whale of a time and see what happens; I can’t wait!”
