Remembering Dai Roberts

This was always going to be tough.

Heading back to the Jim Clark Rally this weekend will be a difficult one for many, for competitors, officials, volunteers, supporters, and for all of us involved in the British Rally Championship.

Just under 12 months ago, we lost one of the very best in Dai Roberts. A hugely respected and much-loved member of the BRC family, Dai’s loss continues to be felt deeply across the championship and the wider rallying community.

Dai was an integral part of the series, admired not only for his talent and professionalism, but for the warmth, humour and friendship he brought to every event and everyone around him.

Returning to the Jim Clark Rally is not easy, and there will undoubtedly be emotional moments throughout the weekend, but we know Dai’s passion for rallying and for the championship never wavered. More than anything, we are sure he would have wanted the rally to continue, and for the BRC family to come together once again in the spirit of the sport he loved so much.

We send our heartfelt thoughts to Louise, Mike and all of the Roberts family at this time, as well as to Dai’s friends, team-mates and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Our thoughts also extend to James Williams at this difficult time.

Let’s make this a good one for Dai.
