Responding to feedback from British Rally Championship competitors, the JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion [4-6 September] will become a double-header in 2026, offering two points-scoring opportunities at the closed-road Aberystwyth-based event.
After the unfortunate cancellation of the proposed third round of the 2026 season, the Carlisle Stages, JDS Machinery will now step in to become rounds 4 and 5, similar to how the event counted in the BRC roster in 2024.
In a Bulletin issued on 8th June to championship competitors, the full details of how the counting rounds will be split are yet to be confirmed, but further information will be available on publication of Rali Ceredigion’s itinerary.
“Rali Ceredigion is the jewel in the crown of rallying in the UK and going head to head with the FIA European Rally Championship always adds an additional layer to the BRC battle each year” commented BRC Championship Manager Reece Tarren.
“After feedback received from our competitors, counting the event as two points-scoring opportunities offered the best all-round solution to retain the six-round season. It’s one of the toughest in the calendar and having two opportunities to score will certainly ensure a fantastic duel for a maximum score as the season heads towards its final round at the Cambrian Rally in October”.
No other changes to the points scoring system will occur [5 best scores from 6 rounds to count], and more information on how the points will be allocated will be communicated in due course.
