British Rally Championship launches all-new eBRC

The Probite British Rally Championship is delighted to announce the return of the eBRC, an online gaming series that will run alongside the seven-round series in real-time during 2024.

In a partnership with EA Sports, the eBRC will aim to re-create the hugely popular inaugural championship which was launched in 2020,  and this year will offer rally drivers, gaming enthusiasts and Esports stars the opportunity to go head to head on six action-packed rounds during the actual rally week. The championship will utilise the superb EA Sports WRC game which has recently been launched to wide acclaim throughout the gaming fraternity.

The series will be open to anyone with a Motorsport UK eSports Licence and is available across all of the popular gaming platforms. The format will follow each round of the BRC, with events chosen to closely represent the real-time rallies, offering an even split of asphalt and gravel rounds.

Utilising the M-Sport Ford Fiesta Rally3, the eBRC will be a single-make format, ensuring ultra close competition on the stages and ensuring fair and level competition, similar to its real-life counterpart.

With players using PC, PlayStation or Xbox, it is hoped to offer a wide-ranging opportunity for gaming fans to engage with the BRC and series organisers have devised a series of regulations and incentives to capture the imagination of motorsport fans across the globe.

A dynamic points system will be created, adjusting to accommodate for the number of people taking part. Tuning and game assists will be enabled, allowing a far-reaching level of ability to join in the fight for the top spot.

And there is an exciting number of prizes on offer throughout the season, with the eBRC champion offered the opportunity to attend the coveted British Rally Championship Awards Ceremony at the end of the season to collect their trophy. Other random draws will take place per round, including a signed Adrien Fourmaux poster and an impressive £200 brake and friction materials voucher from series sponsors Probite. Other prizes are expected to be announced shortly.

“After its ground-breaking success in 2020, we are delighted to re-launch the eBRC and open the British Rally Championship up to a potentially new audience” enthused BRC Championship Manager Reece Tarren.

“Contestants will be able to compete at the same time as the BRC this season and we have selected rounds in the WRC which closely represent our UK events. Each event is open for around a week, offering plenty of opportunity to compete and we hope that the action in the eBRC will be just as intense as out on the real stages of the championship. Just a Motorsport UK eSports licence, a gaming system and the WRC game are needed and you can recreate the British Rally Championship in your own home. I just wish I was at home during the rally weekends to compete myself!”
