Cornwell steps into Peugeot 208 for Isle of Man

After scooping the Cadet Cup category, 19-year-old Josh Cornwell will graduate into a front-running Peugeot 208 R2 for the season finale on Rally Isle of Man.

Cornwell claimed five victories from six events on his way to the inaugural Cadet Cup – creating an unassailable lead in the front-wheel-drive formula with two points scoring rounds to spare.

The Cadet Cup formula introduced at the start of the season was established to provide young drivers aged 25 and under an important stepping-stone from clubman rallying to the Junior BRC.

With the free entries for all BRC rounds in 2018 in the bag thanks to his title success – Cornwell has now set his sights on the Junior BRC category as he hopes to compare his pace on the championship frontrunners.

Josh will get his first taste of the rapid Peugeot 208 R2 next week on Rally Isle of Man (14-16 September) as he goes in quest of mixing it with the established runners in the ultra-competitive front wheel drive category.
