Donnie does the double in Scotland

Scotsman Donnie Macdonald has taken the two National Rally Cup wins in Scotland this season in his powerful Ford Fiesta R5. Macdonald had one of the best events of his BRC career to date, gelling with the right-hand-drive Fiesta from the off to take a comfortable win in the NRC category on the RSAC Scottish Rally. The Inverness-based driver also mixed it with the regular BRC front-runners and finished a superb eighth overall on his home event.

The other registered NRC driver on the Scottish Rally was championship leader and Pirelli winners – John Morrison and navigator Peter Carstairs. In their Mitsubishi Evo 9 the experienced pair suffered a difficult event but still managed to bring the car home to score a good haul of points. Morrison also played his Joker enabling him to keep Macdonald at bay in the overall standings.

Spencer Wilkinson and Glyn Thomas faced a race against time to make the start-line in Dumfries. The Production Cup pairing finished rebuilding their Subaru Impreza the morning of the Scottish Rally after a tough Pirelli International event. The crew enjoy the longer, tougher and demanding challenges the BRC has to offer and brought their car home in 21st overall – and more importantly they have swelled their Production Cup points account.
