The all-female Scottish crew of Meghan O’Kane and Nikki Addison will step up to the British Rally Championship in 2025, marking the biggest challenge of their rallying careers so far.
The progression from the Scottish Rally Championship (SRC) marks a significant milestone in their careers and the duo will compete in the competitive BRC4 class in their Ford Fiesta R2.
O’Kane, hailing from Kyle, and Addison, from Inverness, have been prominent figures in the SRC over the years, also tackling an extensive list of events near home with O’Kane securing the Junior SRC title in 2024.
Addison is not only an experienced co-driver but is also an accomplished driver contesting the National Asphalt series last season in a Honda Civic and winning the Ladies Title. Now, Addison will swap the drivers seat for a set of notes, to guide O’Kane through the six BRC events on the roster.
Their journey, both together and separately, has been marked by consistent performances and a commitment to honing their skills outside of Scottish events. Transitioning to the BRC presents new challenges, including more demanding stages and heightened competition.
“Really looking forward to joining the BRC this year”, said O’Kane.
It’s going to be very new for me – A new championship, mostly all new events and a new navigator, having Nikki in with me for the first time! I’ve never done a gravel recce before either, but looking forward to some new challenges while trying to keep up with the pace in BRC. Really excited to get going next weekend at East Riding stages!
“As much as I love being in the driver’s seat, and I am still planning in the background to get out driving this year too,” says Addison.
“But I’m excited to experience the BRC for the first time on the other side of the car. I see how much potential Meghan has and I’d love to see her do well, so if I can help her achieve this in any way I’ll be right there! Plus, who wouldn’t want to go rallying with their best friend?!”
The pairing will get their season underway at the East Riding Stages Rally next weekend, the opening round of the 2025 BRC season.
