Triple National Cup champion Morrison returns to the BRC

Having secured the British Rally Championship National Cup [precursor to the National Rally Title] no less than three times, John Morrison will return to the BRC after a two-year sabbatical in a bid to take the newly announced Open category crown.

Morrison has been a regular on the BRC scene for many years, bringing his Mitsubishi Evo IX to a huge number of rounds since the reinvigoration of the championship in 2016. Contesting the then National Cup, designed for those vehicles out of homologation, Morrison secured three titles in a row, from 2017 to 2019.

In 2021 he returned in a newly acquired Fiesta R5 but couldn’t quite repeat the feat, and headed a little closer to home for the next two seasons. Now, Morrison will return to the BRC in the Open Rally Title and will aim to take a fourth championship, starting with the Legend Fires North West Stages in March.

Preferring the longer more arduous events, Morrison enjoys the format of the BRC rounds and hailing from the North of Scotland, which means the challenging rallies in the calendar can ensure the long trip is worthwhile. The re-vamped BRC calendar for 2024 was a significant draw for the Fiesta pilot, and he will be a welcome addition to the series this season.

Morrison will be co-driven by Max Freeman on the North West Stages before Sinclair Young steps in for the remainder of the season.
