Windus eager for BRC return

Australian driver Arron Windus is set to return to the Prestone MSA British Rally Championship in 2017 for a full season with Vauxhall Motorsport after a part campaign last year.

Windus drove for Vauxhall Motorsport on the opening three events in Britain’s premier rally series with his best result coming on the gruelling Circuit of Ireland with a fine fifth in 2016. The Ballarat-based star is eager to climb onboard the pocket-rocket ADAM R2 once again and progress his results further in the Junior BRC.

“I am really looking forward to driving with Vauxhall again this season,” enthused Windus. “Simon [Mauger] and all the boys do a fantastic job getting this team off the ground and winning the championship last year. Both Aaron and I look to get off to a flying start on the Border Counties. Many hours of preparation have gone into this season back home here in Australia, so we know we have the right ingredients, it’s just a matter of putting that all together. I can’t wait to get going.”

The driver from Victoria has been keeping himself sharp on the other side of the world with drives in the Victorian and Australian Rally Championship’s – and is ready for a full year of British rallying with new co-driver, Ulsterman Aaron Johnston sat alongside. Johnston co-drove for Adam Bustard in last year’s Junior series and the Northern Irishman hopes to use his great experience to guide Windus to good results in 2017.
