Garry Pearson returns to fight for the British Rally Championship (BRC) title in 2026 with the full support of World Rally Championship outfit, M-Sport Ford.
Pearson has enjoyed an exceptional rallying career to-date with four national rally championships to his name, as well as winning eight competitive rallies overall.
This led to M-Sport signing him to drive a Ford Fiesta Rally2 throughout the 2024 and 2025 seasons in Britain’s premier rally series.
For 2026, the Duns-based driver will again lead the line for M-Sport, striving to join illustrious names like Keith Cronin, Matt Edwards and current Hyundai World Rally Championship driver Adrien Fourmaux as British Rally champions with the team.
With Hannah McKillop alongside him in the co-drivers’ seat, the 34-year-old has all the ingredients he needs to become the first Scot in over 15 years to win the British Rally Championship title.
Garry Pearson said:
“This will be our fifth season now in the British Rally Championship, and my third with M-Sport. It feels like this is the year we’ve got to go all out for the championship title.
“While the results maybe didn’t always show it, I really feel like we made a step forward last year with our pace and the consistency of that pace. Coupled to the upgrade package M-Sport has released for the Fiesta Rally2, that gives me confidence we can fight at the very top.
“That’s obviously a lot easier said than done, but I’ve got experience on all the events, am familiar with the car and team, and am constantly working hard to improve myself as a driver
“To win the British Rally Championship has always been an ambition of mine, and I’ve never felt better placed to do it. I look forward to an intense battle out on the stages and doing my best to make all my partners and supporters proud.”
Hannah McKillop added:
“I’m really delighted to be teaming up with Garry and M-Sport again for 2026 as we look to build on the progress shown in 2025.
“With Welsh gravel, Scottish Tarmac and everything in between, it’s going to be a fun and challenging season where we plan to stand on the podium plenty of times!”
The 2026 British Rally Championship season begins next weekend at the Severn Valley Stages in mid Wales (April 11). Further events include Pearson’s local event, the Jim Clark Rally (May 22/23), the Kielder Carlisle Stages (June 5/6), Grampian Forest Rally (August 7/8), Rali Ceredigion (4-6 September) – which is also a round of the FIA European Rally Championship – and Cambrian Rally (October 24).
Pearson’s title partner for 2026, and the livery of his Ford Fiesta Rally2, will be revealed via his social media channels next week.
